Syrian Pound Strengthens Against Major Currencies; Gold and Crypto Decline
The Syrian Pound showed strength against the US Dollar and other major currencies over the past two weeks. Gold and cryptocurrency prices experienced declines in US dollar terms.
Syrian Pound vs. US Dollar
As of July 31, the US Dollar traded at an average of 129.875 SYP, with buy rates at 129.5 SYP and sell rates at 130.25 SYP. The Syrian Pound has strengthened by 1.3% against the dollar over the last two weeks.
Other Foreign Currencies
The Syrian Pound also strengthened against other currencies. The Euro was at 149.15 SYP, strengthening by 0.5% over two weeks. The Turkish Lira stood at 2.73 SYP, with the pound gaining 2.2%, and the Saudi Riyal was at 34.63 SYP, showing a 1.1% strengthening for the pound.
Gold Prices
Gold prices in US dollars saw a 24-hour decline. 24K gold was quoted at 130 USD/gram, down 1.8%. 21K gold was 114 USD/gram, a 1.6% decrease, and 18K gold was 98 USD/gram, down 1.4%.
Cryptocurrencies
Major cryptocurrencies also moved lower in US dollar terms. Bitcoin (BTC) was priced at 62613 USD, reflecting a 3.1% drop over 24 hours. Ethereum (ETH) traded at 1859 USD, marking a 2.9% decline in the same period.
