The Syrian Pound continued its weakening trend against key foreign currencies as of August 17, 2026. Gold and major cryptocurrencies also posted gains in USD terms.
USD/SYP Exchange Rate
The US Dollar (USD) was quoted at 132.5 SYP, with a buy rate of 132.25 and a sell rate of 132.75. Over the past two weeks, the Syrian Pound has weakened by 1.0% against the dollar.
Other Foreign Currencies
The Syrian Pound also weakened against other major currencies. Against the Euro (EUR), the rate was 152.9 SYP, with the pound weakening by 1.6% over two weeks. The Turkish Lira (TRY) stood at 2.755 SYP, with the pound weakening 0.4%, and the Saudi Riyal (SAR) was 35.19 SYP, with the pound weakening 0.8%.
Gold Prices
Gold prices in USD saw increases over the last 24 hours. 24K gold was 142 USD/gram, up 0.6%. 21K gold reached 124 USD/gram, up 0.4%, and 18K gold was 107 USD/gram, up 0.9%.
Cryptocurrency Performance
Major cryptocurrencies also recorded gains. Bitcoin (BTC) traded at 63760 USD, up 1.1% in 24 hours. Ethereum (ETH) was 1906 USD, marking a 1.3% increase over the same period.
