Syrian Pound Weakens Against Major Currencies; Gold and Crypto See Gains
The Syrian Pound continued to weaken against key foreign currencies over the past two weeks. Gold and major cryptocurrencies also recorded gains.
Syrian Pound vs. US Dollar
The US Dollar (USD) was quoted at 135.125 SYP, with buy at 134.75 and sell at 135.5. Over the last two weeks, the Syrian Pound weakened by 3.0% against the dollar.
Other Foreign Currencies
The Euro (EUR) reached 154.45 SYP, while the Turkish Lira (TRY) stood at 2.765 SYP, and the Saudi Riyal (SAR) was 36.205 SYP. The pound weakened against the EUR by 1.7%, against the TRY by 2.2%, and against the SAR by 3.4% over the past two weeks.
Precious Metals
Gold prices saw increases, with 24K gold at 140 USD per gram, 21K at 122 USD per gram, and 18K at 105 USD per gram. These represent 24-hour gains of 0.6%, 0.2%, and 0.8% respectively.
Digital Currencies
Cryptocurrencies also moved higher. Bitcoin (BTC) was trading at 80909 USD, up 6.2% in 24 hours, while Ethereum (ETH) reached 2580 USD, gaining 5.4% over the same period.
